The Culture of Giving

The Board of Trustees has endorsed a ‘culture of giving’ philosophy for the Foundation. This culture embraces the idea that Stewards of Saint Peter have always played a leadership role in charitable giving and that this leadership can continue in new and different ways to the Foundation.

As you provide for so many worthy charitable causes throughout the world, we ask for your consideration to give in three different ways to the Foundation: Annual Giving, Planned Giving and Family Legacies.

The Papal Foundation Annual Fund

The Foundation asks for your participation in our Annual Fund to continue to support the good works of the Foundation. In the 2023 fiscal year, our first year of this appeal, 10 Stewards and Trustees committed more than $260,000 dollars to the Annual Fund. Just think of the kind of impact we as Stewards can make if we can increase the number of Steward families participating in this effort!

Why does your participation in the Annual Fund matter?

Steward families provide exceptional support to the Holy Father each year. And yet even with this generosity, the Foundation is not able to meet all the needs that exist to help the poor and most vulnerable in developing nations. In order that the Foundation can increase the impact of our work around the world, we ask for your participation at any level and at any time during the year.

Nearly 15 years ago, my late father, Tom Flatley, a Steward of Saint Peter himself, was inspired to take the bold step of starting the Mission Fund of the Foundation. His legacy of generosity has inspired me in my role as a Trustee of the Foundation….we are asking all Stewards of Saint Peter to renew your commitment to the mission as well.
