The St. John Vianney Society

The Papal Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the St. John Vianney Society, inspired by the generosity of Msgr. Arthur Holquin of Orange County, California. A devoted member of the clergy for over 50 years and a beloved friend to many Stewards of St. Peter, Msgr. Holquin’s dedication has motivated this unique initiative. Named after St. John Vianney, the patron saint of priests, the Society honors and acknowledges members of the clergy and religious women who have demonstrated their commitment to the mission of The Papal Foundation. This commitment may be expressed by Stewards of St. Peter honoring priests or women religious, or through priest or women religious’ own financial support of the Foundation and its work on behalf of the Holy Father.

By making a planned gift themselves or by a commitment made on their behalf, members of the St. John Vianney Society affirm their dedication to the long-term sustainability of the Foundation’s global mission.

Each year, members of the Society are recognized at The Papal Foundation’s Winter Gathering in Washington, D.C., during a special reception at the Apostolic Nunciature, which serves as the embassy for the Holy See in the United States. Whenever possible, members are also encouraged to join the Stewards of St. Peter on the Foundation’s annual pilgrimage to Rome, where they participate in the spiritual and sacramental life of the Foundation.

Inspired by the example of St. John Vianney and other holy men and women who have devoted their lives to service in the Church, we invite you to pray for the members of the St. John Vianney Society as they work to strengthen Christ’s kingdom on earth.

Members of the Society play a vital role in the spiritual life of The Papal Foundation, providing invaluable spiritual and pastoral support to the Stewards of St. Peter.

If you would like to honor a pastor, religious woman, or member of the clergy by helping them become a member of the St. John Vianney Society, please contact Ian Rangel or a member of the Development Team. Click here to view or print The St. John Vianney Society flyer.
