Become a Steward of Saint Peter

Stewards Share their Faith through Generosity

The Papal Foundation is funded through the generosity of a select group of North American Catholic philanthropists who are committed to bringing the love of Christ to a world in need and being intimately connected with the work of the Church and the Holy Father.

One becomes a Papal Foundation Steward of Saint Peter for life by embracing the Foundation’s “Culture of Giving.”

It begins with a seven or eight figure gift that can be earmarked for the Foundation’s General Grants, Mission Fund or Saint John Paul II Scholarship Fund. It can also begin with a named Designated Gift that supports a major grant for a certain part of the Church, or with a named Endowment that will provide for certain types of grants or beneficiaries around the world in perpetuity.

It continues with additional giving opportunities:

  • Family Legacy gifts which make children, grandchildren or parents Stewards as well, in order to help ensure a family’s commitment to and interaction with the Church.
  • Annual Gifts which help support the ongoing operations of the Foundation so that more monies are available for grant making
  • Estate and Planned Gifts, such as naming the Foundation for a bequest in a will or as a designated beneficiary for an IRA.

Annual pilgrimages to Rome with an opportunity to meet the Holy Father, as well as trips to meet grant recipients, often inspire Stewards to invite new generations to Foundation activities. Stewards often express that meeting the Holy Father in Rome together with other family members is a highlight of their involvement with the Foundation.

Being a Steward of Saint Peter often means planting a seed that will grow the faith in the lives of their children and their children’s children, as well as introducing this noble initiative to friends or other family members.

Join a Distinctive Community of Philanthropic Leaders

Stewardship through the Foundation allows donors to create relationships with fellow philanthropists who are profoundly committed to their faith.

Stewards of Saint Peter have given generously, and they and the Holy Father aspire to make the Foundation the most impactful charitable endeavor to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth.
