We pray for those who have suffered harm from members of the Church; may they find within the Church herself a concrete response to their pain and suffering.
Father, you who are compassionate and merciful, Welcome with your love those who suffer the damage caused by the horror of abuse committed by those in the Church, who should have been fathers, mothers, pastors and brothers. Give us a merciful heart in the face of this human misery; a big heart to listen to those who suffer; open arms that do not get tired of embracing; clear discernment to respond to pain; generous oil to heal their wounds. May we care for those who suffer being Samaritans and keeping the inn open. Help us to help our brothers and sisters who suffer or have suffered abuse in the Church!
